The following items were ADDED:
Added the MaxiCode symbology to the Sato 8400/8 printer.
Added the Postnet symbology for Sato printers that support it.
Added the ability to make lines, boxes, circles and pictures (non-printable) phantom fields.
Added the ability to manually change certain field properties from the field parameters screen that were not accessible such as position and angle.
Added a function to the grid so that it will be saved with the format maintaining its settings.
Added the option to Choose All Fields located under the Edit menu. This allows the user to quickly and easily select every field on the format for deleting, view/changing common properties, etc.
Added the ability for text fields to be stretched and resized by clicking and dragging the field. Stretching can be done horizontally, vertically or both by using the corner handles. TrueType fonts that use 0 as their width will always stretch both horizontally and vertically simultaneously.
Added more hash marks to the ruler to make measurements easier when working with very small labels.
Added support for UNC (Universal Naming Convention) allowing you to choose a network printer simply and easily by selecting its printer name from a list of available printers that are connected to the network.
Added a fly-out submenu, File | Open which list different types of files that you can open. Works the same as File | New.
Added a message box that indicates that the download is complete to an Apollo memory card.
Added more precision when selecting cell size for DataMatrix on the Apollo printers.
Added support for function codes with Code 128 using Apollo printers.
Added support for barcode headers and trailers for formats that are downloaded to an Apollo memory card.
Added support for Julian dates as a printer command on Apollo printers.
Added support for incremented/decremented when printed fields for formats that are downloaded to an Apollo memory card.
Added a label height limit to the Apollo 3/300 of 420mm.
Added the 230,400 baud rate for A8 (Apollo 8) (RS-485 only).
The following items were CHANGED:
Changed the restriction on Apollo printers to allow for as small as 1mm in label height.
Changed the name of the Apollo 8 printer to Tharo/cab A8.
Changed the function of formats that are flagged to create replace files to automatically default to download to the memory card and set the “printer prompts for quantity” option.
Changed the maximum print area height for HP printers to 19.68”.
Changed the name of the Apollo printer to Apollo 1.
Changed the way a field is pasted to the label. Previously it would be pasted in the top left corner of the format, but it did not recognize the zoom level. This meant that if you were zoomed in to view a label and pasted a field, you would have to zoom out to 100% to access it. The zoom level is now recognized and the field is pasted in the current level.
Changed the maximum character height for Apollo printers to 4.12”.
Changed the location of the graphics thumbnail preview so that it is now visible from the directions box in addition to the browse box, the previous location.
Changed the installation so that the language that is selected initially to install the software is continued from that point on, even when the program is first launched.
Changed the way when printed fields are downloaded to the Apollo memory card so that fields can be blank.
Changed phantom text and barcode fields that are downloaded to the Apollo memory card so that they are sent as invisible fields.
Change made to TEC driver to allow for True Type font width to be as small as .01”.
Change made to allow the source of data for DataMatrix and QR Code to be external files.
Change made to Apollo driver to allow the serial number fields on a memory card to go from 999 to 000 instead of 999 to 1000.
Changed the word for “Decrement” from “Abwärts” to “Ruckwärts” because it began with the letter “A”, the same as the word for “Increment” which is “Aufwärts”. Two choices in a list cannot begin with the same letter. Choosing “Abwärts” would change to “Aufwärts” because it defaults to the first “A” in the list.
Version numbering scheme changed from x.xx.xx.xx to x.x.x.xx to avoid confusion with the x.x that is displayed during installation. For example, this new version is 3.1.0.63 instead of 3.01.00.63. The installation screens displayed 3.1 which was different from the 3.01 that was listed in the About box.
The following items were CORRECTED:
Corrected serial files so that they can now use 20 digits. Previously, using 20 digits would produce garbage characters.
Corrected the FIM symbology for Apollo printers. It was causing a protocol error on the printer.
Corrected the 115,200 baud rate for the A8 (Apollo 8).
Corrected the problem of converting a dBase II database to a dBase III database. This occurred when upgrading from a DOS version of EASYLABEL to a 32-bit version.
Corrected the problem with Zebra ZNET/Multi-Drop (RS485) printing.
Corrected the Additional Options choice for Windows printers. Previously the settings were not saved. Once you exited the setup for Additional Options, it reverted to the default settings.
Corrected the problem with linking more than 5 fields with Apollo printers.
Corrected the problem where not all print speeds were available for the Sato CL412 printer.
Corrected a problem with Apollo and Novexx printers where printing to a file would sometimes use the wrong printer file.
Corrected a problem where serial communications would not work with all printer models
Corrected a problem with PDF417 symbology using an HP or Windows printer.
Corrected a problem where a printer driver would sometimes “hang” if the printer was off-line or powered off. This caused the ActiveX command “RefreshStatus” to lockup.
Corrected various problems where Intermec printers would not print correctly.
Corrected the prompt ordering on an Apollo memory card.
Corrected a problem with Apollo printers where right or centered justification did not function properly with linked or copied fields.
Corrected a problem using UCC-128/EAN-128 with Apollo where it was always in codeset C (numeric only).
Corrected the GETSTATUS command file function so that it will write printer status to a file.
Corrected the Basic version where text fields of orientation other than left to right were deleted from the format once it was saved, closed and reopened.
Corrected a problem where a test print (from design mode) would change an “?” (question marks) to a numeric “0” (zero) in some barcode symbologies when the barcode was linked or copied from another field.
Corrected a memory leak in ActiveX ELBATCH object
Corrected an alignment problem when using “when-printed” fields with True Type fonts.
Corrected a problem with the Intermec, Novexx, TEC drivers where True Type text would shrink for “when-printed” text fields.
Corrected a problem with the ODBC connection where Search Fields would disappear when connecting to a database that was password protected. Also corrected problem of an empty list box appearing in the Variable Data print dialog screen for a numeric search key.
Corrected a problem with connecting to Excel via ODBC. Excel places a “$” at the end of the Sheet (Table) name. EL 32 was not able to recognize this “$”.
Corrected a problem where $all with a database that had a null value in the search key, the first label would print the barcode but subsequent labels with null values would not print the barcode. This has been fixed so that the first label will not print the barcode if it is a null value.
Problem with switching from an internal EASYLABEL database (.dbf) to an external database (ODBC). After using an internal database, you were locked into that database type and could not switch to an external (ODBC) database.
The following items were REMOVED:
Removed prompts that were invalid for the Express and Basic versions.
