How do I upgrade my license?
Please note that version and level are distinct parts of a license
A version would be your version number - Example: 6.4.0.2105
A level would be your license type - Example: SILVER, GOLD, PLATINUM, etc.
First Steps
Determine your EASYLABEL version number AND license level using the EASYLABEL License tool.
If you have a hardware dongle, please ensure it is attached to the machine running the license tool.
Free Software Version Upgrade
If your license lists two (or more) version numbers within the EASYLABEL License Tool, the first listed version is the purchased version.
If the first listed version is the version installed, you can install the second listed version for free.
The EASYLABEL License tool will tell you which version is installed.
Version 7 is available under “Newest EASYLABEL” under “Download”
Versions 6.3-6.4 are available on our “Older EASYLABEL” page under “Download”
Paid Software Version Upgrade
- Within the EASYLABEL License Tool, select “Create License File” – a license file will be created on your desktop
- Contact your EASYLABEL Reseller or Tharo, provide an explanation of what version you would like to upgrade to and provide this file for upgrading
Once payment is processed, you will be provided with a file that will upgrade your license to work with the newest version of EASYLABEL
Hardware Dongle to Digital License Conversion
- Within the EASYLABEL License Tool, select “Create License File” – a license file will be created on your desktop
- Contact your EASYLABEL Reseller or Tharo, specify that you would like to convert your Hardware Dongle to a Digital License and provide this file for upgrading
A conversion to a Digital License does NOT mean that your version number will be upgraded. If you are interested in a version number upgrade as well, please inform your EASYLABEL Reseller or Tharo.
Hardware Dongle Parallel to USB Conversion
- Within the EASYLABEL License Tool, select “Create License File” – a license file will be created on your desktop
- Contact your EASYLABEL Reseller or Tharo, specify that you would like to convert your Parallel port Hardware Dongle to a USB license and provide this file – we will use this file to confirm the version number that was originally purchased
A conversion to a USB Dongle does NOT mean that your version number will be upgraded. If you are interested in a version number upgrade as well, please inform your EASYLABEL Reseller or Tharo.
You can have a combination of these upgrades.
When inquiring about upgrading, ensure that you explain what kind of upgrade (or combination of upgrades) that you would like.
What is new with EASYLABEL 7?
- EASYLABEL now has an updated user interface that more closely matches the visual style of modern desktop applications and the standard applications included with the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Digital Licenses are now available as an alternative to hardware license dongles.
- Adding text fields to a label has never been easier. Simply click the Text icon and then click on the label where you want the text and start typing.
- The new field properties window shows a complete list of all the information about the selected field. This makes it easy to view and update field properties and instantly see the results of changes.
- The updated format browser shows a preview image of all the labels in a selected folder, allowing instant access to printing or editing of a label format.
