Important Note: As of Version 5.7.0 EASYLABEL will only install on Windows 2000 or higher. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT are no longer supported. EASYLABEL 5.6 should be used on Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT. Windows 95 is not supported.

Important Note: If you used Visual Studio 2003 to compile a project using EASYLABEL’s ActiveX objects with version 1.1 of the .NET framework, you may experience a crash when you run your project after upgrading to EASYLABEL 5.7.0 or higher. This is because the project tries to load .NET framework version 1.1 and then tries to load .NET framework version 2. This loading of the second .NET framework fails and that causes the crash. To correct this, compile your project using Visual Studio 2005. If this is not possible you can correct the problem if you un-install version 1.1 of the .NET framework.

The following changes/additions have been made:

  1. Print History Console

EASYLABEL now features an extensive reporting, logging and label reprint application called the Print History Console. The Print History Console provides a central location for your EASYLABEL reports and logs. Multiple copies of EASYLABEL can connect to one Print History Database allowing for centralized logging and reporting.

  1. RFID Enhancements

Added the ability to read and write from the “user memory” bank. Full support for 32-bit lock and access passwords for EPC, password, and user memory banks. These features are only available on some printer models.

  1. Sato Clock Enhancements

Added the option of using the new WU command to use printer clock in text and barcodes.

  1. LabelCom

Increased the number of fields that can be extracted from the data sent by the device. This fixes a crash that can occur when defining more than 9 extract fields. A warning is displayed if there are too many extract fields.

  1. Zebra Printer Downloading Formats

Added the ability to download a format file to Zebra printers. The downloaded format can be recalled by sending the generated replace file to the printer. The replace file can include the new label data to be merged with the downloaded template to create the final printed label(s).

  1. Windows Printers

When printing in “demo” mode on sheets that contained multiple labels, the starting position and number of labels might not be correct. This problem has been fixed.

  1. TEC Printers and USB

Added support for USB ports when using TEC printers. This allows for using USB-parallel and USB-serial converter cables.

  1. Paragraph Text Fields

When a paragraph text field had the header or trailer option selected, the field did not print correctly. This has been corrected.

  1. Sato and Database FMTNAME

When using Sato printers and printing formats that use a database with the FMTNAME option, sometimes incorrect data would be printed on the labels. This has been fixed.

  1. VoiceCode Fields

Fixed problem of VoiceCode fields not being in the correct orientation after the label format is rotated.

  1. Sato Driver Fix

In some rare cases, the Sato printer driver used the wrong printer command for a Code-128 barcode. This has been fixed.

  1. Sato Month Abbreviations

Added support for the Sato MMM date command so that abbreviated month names can be done in the printer. Previously, these were sent as fixed text fields.

  1. Zebra Datamatrix and Function 1

Corrected a problem on Zebra printers where a Function 1 character in a Datamatrix symbol would not be encoded correctly.

  1. Barcode Wizard Check Digit

The Barcode Wizard was missing the option of adding a Mod 10 check digit to some application identifiers (AI’s). This has been corrected.

  1. Missing Application Identifers / Components

The Barcode Wizard was missing application identifiers 357 and 8200. The application identifiers 337, 390, 391, 392, and 393 were missing a component to specify the decimal position.

  1. Application Identifier Length

Corrected the lengths of several Application Identifiers to allow for all the data to be entered.

  1. Novexx / Avery Dennison

In some cases of converting formats from other printer models to work with a Novexx or Avery Dennison printer, text fields would print very large. This has been corrected.

  1. Tharo H-Series and Datamatrix

Fixed a problem where a Datamatrix symbol that was created using a linked incremented field would not increment correctly.

  1. Tharo H-Series Date Field Formatting

In some cases where a formatted date field was copied or linked to another field, the formatting was not applied. This has been corrected.

  1. Japanese Characters in Reports

When printing a format tracking report that contained Japanese characters, sometimes that characters overlapped or were not spaced correctly. This has been fixed.

  1. New WibuKey Drivers

Updated to the latest WibuKey drivers version 6.11.

  1. Job Description

Allow entry of a much longer job description when using the print request screen.

  1. Windows 8 USB

Fixed a problem where USB ports might not be displayed in the printer configuration even when the printer was connected USB.
