The following changes/additions have been made:

  1. Print History Database

Added option to use a Microsoft Access database (either a .mdb or the newer .accdb) as the storage location for print history data. Blank databases are provided in both formats. (bug# 1134)

  1. cab Mach 1 and Mach 2 printers

The “begin label” and “end label” commands were wrong for the cab Mach 1 and Mach 2 printers, so labels would not print correctly. (bug# 1399)

  1. New Zebra RFID Locking Command

Zebra has changed the tag locking command for new printers and some older printers with updated firmware. Use the new ^RL for these printers. (bug# 1393)

  1. High CPU Usage Printing Via TCP/IP

Some printer drivers caused excessive CPU usage when printing to a network printer using TCP/IP. (bug# 1404)

  1. TSC Print Speed

A couple of TSC printer models were using an incorrect print speed list. This has been fixed. (regression from 6.2)

  1. Embedded Graphic Images

A long pathname for a graphic image file could cause a crash when the label format is saved. (bug# 1415)

  1. Zebra ZT Series Printers and Cutter Option

The Zebra ZT410 and ZT420 series printers were missing the cutter option. (bug# 1411)

  1. Sato RFID

On some Sato printer models, trying to encode an HF (High Frequency) RFID tag with data copied from another field did not work. It encoded the name of the copied field, not the data in the field. (bug# 1416)

  1. Sato Bearer Bars

The drawing of bearer bars did not account for any centering or justification of the barcode. Therefore, the position of the bearer bars did not follow the barcode. (bug# 1418)

  1. Tharo Printers and RTF Field

In some cases an RTF paragraph field was printed in an incorrect orientation. (bug# 1389)

  1. Tharo Printer Driver Crash

Sometimes when downloading image files (when the image source was not “Fixed”) the driver would crash. (bug# 1394)

  1. Tharo Printer Image Shifting

When sending images and using “bypass flash”, sometimes the images shifted positions on the printed label. (bug# 1414)

  1. Printing Wrong Image

Because of the way graphics objects were managed by the printer drivers, the wrong graphic image file may have been printed on a label. (bug# 1412)

  1. Print Queue

The print queue application for the Net Print Server has had a few minor user interface adjustments, such as the default window size and some menu fixes. (bug# 1392)

  1. Command File Error

If a command file was improperly formatted and an error was displayed, sometimes EASYLABEL would crash after the error window was closed.

(bug# 1422)

  1. Tharo Printer and Downloaded Formats

In certain label formats downloaded to the printer, the printer would prompt twice for some data fields. (bug# 1315)

  1. Tharo Printers and Interleaved 2 of 5 Barcode

Added ability to pick a 2.5:1 ratio for Interleaved 2 of 5 linear barcode. (bug# 1171)

  1. Trace Log File

Moved the trace log file ($lbl.log) to the desktop to make it easier to find. Added the EASYLABEL program type and version number to the trace log. (bug# 1225 and bug# 1261)

  1. Print History Console

Using the “Export Job List as TXT” function in the Print History Console resulted in a file that had improper line terminators. This made it very hard to view. (bug# 1246)

  1. FMTNAME and LBLCOUNT

If a database contained columns named FMTNAME and LBLCOUNT, which was supposed to switch to a new label format and set the default label count, the label count was not set correctly. (bug# 1220)

  1. Unnecessary Scroll Bar

When zooming in on very small labels (1/4 inch in size and using “fit to window”) a scroll bar was displayed that only scrolled the image a few pixels. Fix so that “fit to window” never displays a scroll bar. (bug# 1262)

  1. GHS Variable Table Order

Show the language selection list in alphabetical order by the 2-character language code. (bug# 1273)

  1. Sato Text Field

When printing using certain fonts and text orientations, part of the text was cut off. (bug# 1001)

  1. Text and Style Codes

Text strings using embedded style codes (bold for example) had parts of characters cut off at the end of the text. This was caused by incorrect bitmap width. (bug# 1027, 1229)

  1. Copying Database Search Field Loses Prompt

Sometimes when copying and pasting a field that was the database search field, the operator prompt and the search key information was lost. (bug# 1278)

  1. Downloading Format Changes Serial File

When downloading a label format to a printer or storing it on a memory card, serial files were updated. This is incorrect, the serial files should have remained unchanged. (bug# 1285)

  1. Zebra Driver Slow Font Download

When downloading fonts to a Zebra printer using USB interface, the download was slow. Improve the font download speed by buffering the data.

(bug# 1289)

  1. When-Printed Date with Expiration

Using a when-printed date field and calculating an expiration date sometimes caused the date to appear as question marks. Fix so that “/”, “-”, and the system defined date separator are recognized as separators in an entered date. (bug# 1301)

  1. Zebra ZT410-600 Missing Label Offset

The label offset prompt was missing from the Zebra ZT410 600 DPI printer model. (bug# 1437)

  1. Print History Console Date Selection

The date selection did not always work properly in regions that use a different date format than the U.S. (bug# 1438)

  1. Converting Formats to HP Windows Driver

Sometimes when converting a label format from an EASYLABEL printer driver to the HP Windows driver, the label did not display or print correctly. Fixed so that the driver will use the correct printer resolution. (bug# 1370)

  1. Zebra ZE500 Print Mode

The Zebra ZE500 series printers now set correct print mode and also allow for applicator mode. (bug# 1379)

  1. Multi-Up Printing and Databases

When printing multiple labels across the page (multi-up) and using a database where the batch size changes based on the database record, sometimes the batch size was not computed correctly. (bug# 1420)

  1. RTF Paragraph Field Rotation

An RTF paragraph field might have been printed with the wrong field orientation. The field was rotated twice on cab or TSC printers. (bug# 1429)

  1. Tharo Printer Date and Time

There was an issue where time and date fields would not update between labels in a given job. This was not an problem if there were incremented fields on the label or the format was being downloaded to the printer. (bug# 1433)

  1. Aztec Symbol Layers

Choosing a layer count for a “Compact” or “Full Range” symbol resulted in the actual number of layers being one less than the chosen value. (bug# 1425)

  1. Printer Model Error Message

When converting a label format between different printer models, sometimes a strange error message “Printer model is too large” might have been displayed. (bug# 1292)

  1. Field List and Navigator Windows

Sometimes the field list window or label navigator window would disappear, even though these should have been persistent properties for the current user. (bug# 1138)

  1. Print History Console

Changed the wording in the menu for exporting a job list as a CSV (comma separated variable) file and also moved some menu items for better grouping. (bug# 1245)

  1. Print History Console

Added new menu item “Export Job Data for Selected Job” which will generate a CSV file containing the data for all batches of the currently selected print job. (bug# 1247)

  1. Print History Console Reprint

Store any memo data entered for a reprint in the job description of the reprinted job. (bug# 1383)

  1. Database Range Selection

Allow entry of larger numbers for the starting and ending record numbers when printing a range of records from a database. (bug# 1346)

  1. Missing Function 1 in GS1 Wizard

When designing barcodes using the GS1 wizard, Application Identifiers (AI’s) 252, 422, and 8200 were missing the required Function 1 character to signal the end of the variable data. (bug# 1359)

  1. Datamatrix and Barcode Wizard

When designing a Datamatrix symbol using the barcode wizard and requesting a human readable interpretation, the human readable text was sometimes not visible because it was located off the bottom of the label. (bug# 1268)

  1. XML Monitor

Changed the default monitored folder to the public documents folder (often c:\users\public\documents). Make sure that the label.dtd file is present in the monitored folder, and also add another copy of label.dtd to the EASYLABEL documents folder. (bug# 1384)

  1. XML Monitor Printer List

Made the printer list wider in the monitor setup and properties windows, and also add horizontal scroll bar. (bug# 1385)

  1. Tharo Printers and Datamatrix

Changed the limit of cell size for Datamatrix symbols to 30. (bug# 1398)

  1. Zebra ZT410 300 DPI Print Speeds

The print speeds for the Zebra ZT410 300 DPI are 2.4 to 10 IPS (inches per second). (bug# 1445)

  1. EASYLABEL Net Print Server

Net Print Server label preview images did not correctly display a MicroPDF barcode. Also, a VoiceCode field was displayed in the wrong color and may not have been oriented correctly. (bug# 1447, 1448)

  1. Message Box Too Small

Sometimes when EASYLABEL displayed the message box saying that a printer driver is not installed, the text was cut off. This has been corrected.

(bug# 1455)

  1. Datamax Maximum Print Width

A few of the Datamax printer models showed an incorrect maximum print width. This affected the M series Mark II printers and the E series Mark II and Mark III printers. (bug# 1463)

  1. Print Format Definition

Sometimes when using the “Print Format Definition” tool, EASYLABEL would crash. This has been fixed. (bug# 1465)

  1. Japan New Imperial Era

Japan starts the New Imperial Era on May 1st 2019. Fix the special formatting for dates to account for this. (bug# 1469)

  1. cab SQUIX 4 Printers Minimum Label Height

Fixed several models of the cab SQUIX 4 printers to allow for a minimum label height of 4mm. (bug# 1471)
