Important Note: As of Version 5.7.0 EASYLABEL will only install on Windows 2000 or higher. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT are no longer supported. EASYLABEL 5.6 should be used on Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT. Windows 95 is not supported.

Important Note: If you used Visual Studio 2003 to compile a project using EASYLABEL’s ActiveX objects with version 1.1 of the .NET framework, you may experience a crash when you run your project after upgrading to EASYLABEL 5.7.0 or higher. This is because the project tries to load .NET framework version 1.1 and then tries to load .NET framework version 2. This loading of the second .NET framework fails and that causes the crash. To correct this, compile your project using Visual Studio 2005. If this is not possible you can correct the problem if you un-install version 1.1 of the .NET framework.

VoiceCode is a trademark of YottaMark, Inc.

The following changes/additions have been made:

  1. Japanese Characters in User Log

Fixed a problem where Japanese characters in the user log appeared fine on the screen but did not print correctly.

  1. VoiceCode fields

Corrected a problem where in some cases a VoiceCode field would print as a black box. Also fixed problem of VoiceCode fields not appearing in the label preview of the EASYLABEL Net Print Server web application.

  1. Net Print Server and Wibu Keys

The EASYLABEL Net Print Server will now recognize and use the Reseller Wibu key. This allows resellers to demonstrate the product with full functionality. The Net Print Server will still run in demonstration (demo) mode without a key attached. This mode has reduced features compared to a version using a valid key.

  1. Net Print Server and Databases

The Net Print Server now shows a drop down selection list for each database key field. This makes it much easier to select the proper record for database printing. The print request screen also has the option of entering an SQL “WHERE” clause to select records in the same manner as in EASYLABEL.

  1. Net Print Server Label Folders

Added an option to enter a specific folder name for each user. This allows different users to be given different lists of labels to select from. Also added the option of showing the user the labels from the “system” folder. These options allow for more control over the labels shows to each user.

  1. Net Print Server Default Printer

If a label format has a default printer name defined, the Net Print Server will use this value to set the default printer in the print request screen.

  1. Net Print Server Prompt order

Fixed a problem in the Net Print Server where the order of variable fields (“when printed” or database keys) may be different than the order shown in EASYLABEL.

  1. Net Print Server Label Preview

Fixed a problem where the label preview image for some label formats was displayed as a black box.

  1. Net Print Server History Logging

Fixed a problem where the printing of labels was not logged to the label history database. If history logging is enabled in the EASYLABEL configuration, then Net Print Server will log the requested history data.

  1. Sato Datamatrix Enhancements

Added a special option to the Sato driver to allow for certain printer clock commands to be used in a Datamatrix symbol. To enable this special option, in the comment for the Datamatrix field, use *!USECLOCK as the comment text. If the Datamatrix field uses linked data, then the *!USECLOCK must also be present in the date/time field used in the link.

  1. Sato and Date/Time Offsets

Corrected a problem where an offset using a field name would never use printer clock commands, even if the offset could have been done in the printer.

  1. Datamax Recalibration

On some Datamax printers, using the “Recalibrate” function in the EASYLABEL printer status screen would cause EASYLABEL to crash. This has been corrected.

  1. Datamax Font Download

Fixed a problem with some Datamax printers where fonts that were downloaded as a “bitmap font” might not print correctly. The default font download option is now “Graphic Image”. This was changed to enhance print speed and printer compatibility.

  1. Login Password Length

Corrected a problem where not all characters of a password could be entered when signing into the EASYLABEL application.

  1. Copying the Check Digit of an Invisible Barcode

Using the @ function to copy the check digit of a barcode did not work correctly if the barcode was an invisible barcode created by the barcode wizard. This has been fixed.

  1. Godex Printer Status

Corrected a problem in the Godex printer driver when the printer returned a shorter status reply than expected.
