Important Note: As of Version 5.7.0 EASYLABEL will only install on Windows 2000 or higher. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT are no longer supported. EASYLABEL 5.6 should be used on Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT. Windows 95 is not supported.

Important Note: If you used Visual Studio 2003 to compile a project using EASYLABEL’s ActiveX objects with version 1.1 of the .NET framework, you may experience a crash when you run your project after upgrading to EASYLABEL 5.7.0 or higher. This is because the project tries to load .NET framework version 1.1 and then tries to load .NET framework version 2. This loading of the second .NET framework fails and that causes the crash. To correct this, compile your project using Visual Studio 2005. If this is not possible you can correct the problem if you un-install version 1.1 of the .NET framework.

The following changes/additions have been made:

  1. Tharo H-series and copying barcode data

In cases where data was copied from a barcode that had an additional check digit, the check digit was missing from the copied data. This has been corrected.

  1. Incorrect conversion of old DOS format file

In some cases of old DOS label format files, EASYLABEL did not identify the correct printer driver. The label format was assigned an incorrect printer. This has been fixed.

  1. Label Format Background Image

Depending on the label orientation and position of the background image, you might get an error saying the position or size of the image is incorrect, even if the values were correct. This has been fixed so those invalid error messages are no longer displayed.

  1. Windows 7 Missing Fields

On some computers running Windows 7, the label display might not show your fields. Fields did appear if the mouse hovered over the field. This has been fixed.

  1. Barcode Wizard missing some Application Identifiers

The barcode wizard was missing some of the GS1 application identifiers. Added were 7004 (Active Potency), 7030-7039 (approval number of processor), and 95-99 (internal).

  1. Barcode Wizard invalid data sources

The barcode wizard would let the user create an invisible data segment (invisible barcode) that used an invalid source of data. This has been fixed to that only data sources valid for regular barcodes are used for invisible barcodes.

  1. Tharo H-series and V-series

Added a printer configuration option that would bypass using the printer FLASH memory for downloaded fonts and graphics. TrueType text fields and any graphic images are sent as bitmaps directly into the label image buffer. This will increase printing speed and reduce the time to first label.
