Important Note: As of Version 5.7.0 EASYLABEL will only install on Windows 2000 or higher. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT are no longer supported. EASYLABEL 5.6 should be used on Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT. Windows 95 is not supported.
Important Note: If you used Visual Studio 2003 to compile a project using EASYLABEL’s ActiveX objects with version 1.1 of the .NET framework, you may experience a crash when you run your project after upgrading to EASYLABEL 5.7.0 or higher. This is because the project tries to load .NET framework version 1.1 and then tries to load .NET framework version 2. This loading of the second .NET framework fails and that causes the crash. To correct this, compile your project using Visual Studio 2005. If this is not possible you can correct the problem if you un-install version 1.1 of the .NET framework.
The following changes/additions have been made:
Max label length wrong on some printers
The maximum label length on some printers was set to 50 inches. This has been corrected to allow labels to be as long as is permitted for each printer model.
TEC “Reset” command
The printer “reset” command is only valid for serial interfaces but was being sent for any connected interface. This has been fixed.
Datamax “Triumvirate” fonts
In some cases, the size of the internal “Triumvirate” font was shown on the screen as half the correct size. The printed output was correct, but the label display was wrong. This has been fixed.
Zebra “flip” or “mirror” sometimes not correct
On some Zebra printers, the label “flip” or “mirror” options did not work correctly. This has been fixed.
Printed labels showed some fields as test data.
When printing using the automation interfaces (XML, ActiveX, or command files) and printing a format designed for a certain printer model, but the destination printer was a different model, some label fields would contain test data (either question marks or all zeroes). This has been fixed.
Program crash when language is set to Spanish
In some cases after an error or information message was displayed, the program would crash. This only happened when the language was set to Spanish. This has been corrected.
Designing formats for memory card download
After creating a format for download to a printer memory card, the memory card option would “stick”, causing problems later when designing a label format for a printer model that did not support memory card downloads. This has been fixed.
