Important Note: As of Version 5.7.0 EASYLABEL will only install on Windows 2000 or higher. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT are no longer supported. EASYLABEL 5.6 should be used on Windows 98, Windows ME and Windows NT. Windows 95 is not supported.
Important Note: If you used Visual Studio 2003 to compile a project using EASYLABEL’s ActiveX objects with version 1.1 of the .NET framework, you may experience a crash when you run your project after upgrading to EASYLABEL 5.7.0 or higher. This is because the project tries to load .NET framework version 1.1 and then tries to load .NET framework version 2. This loading of the second .NET framework fails and that causes the crash. To correct this, compile your project using Visual Studio 2005. If this is not possible you can correct the problem if you un-install version 1.1 of the .NET framework.
The following changes/additions have been made:
Undo/Redo Overflow
Making many changes to a label format could result in an overflow in the memory used to track label changes. This caused problems later when the format was saved. This has been corrected to allow for up to 1000 changes per format.
Memory leaks
Fixed memory leaks in the print queue and several printer drivers.
Barcode Wizard
The barcode Wizard now allows selection of barcode centering and justification options. Also fixed a problem that could cause program crash if the quotes were not entered for a text literal.
Database “Variable Table”
Fixed a problem where the “Variable Table” prompt remained after changing the data source from “Database” to some other source of data.
Faster Printer Output
Data sent to printers is buffered for faster output. This is most noticeable when sending many or large graphic images to the printer.
“Enter” key not always equal to “OK” button
Fixed a problem in some of the dialog boxes where pressing the “Enter” key did not always act the same as clicking on the “OK” button.
Zebra RFID Lock Code
Zebra printers require a 32-bit lock code for Gen2 RFID tags. The printer driver now generates a 32-bit lock code from the 8-bit lock code entered in the RFID wizard.
Zebra ZM400 and ZM600 Printers
The Zebra ZM400 series and ZM600 series printers were missing configuration options for “Calendar Option”, “Set Printer Clock”, and “Timer Accuracy Tolerance”. This has been fixed so these options can now be changed for these printers.
Multi-User version
Fixed a problem where the Multi-User version could shut down unexpectedly if it failed to find a license key. The “seven day warning” message was not displayed in that case. Also fixed problem where the server was polled for the license key too frequently. This could slow down printing and other program operations.
