Sato GT408e

Sato GT412e

Sato GT424e

Tharo H-624

The following changes/additions have been made:

  1. Printers now support all shapes and fill patterns

Added the ability to use all shapes and fill patterns for any printer. If the shape/pattern is not supported directly by the printer, then it is sent as a graphic image.

  1. Apollo printers and memory card download

Corrected a problem where spaces in a file name caused problems when the format was downloaded to the printer.

  1. Apollo printers and replace files

Corrected a problem with field names in replace files. All field names are converted to uppercase letters in the replace file. The printer did not accept lowercase letters in a field name.

  1. Datamax printers and RSS-14 and Micro-PDF

Added option to optimize the RSS-14 and Micro-PDF symbols. If this option is selected, then these symbols are sent as a printer command instead of a graphic image.

  1. Tharo H and V series printers now have double-cut

Added ability to double cut a format when using a Tharo H or V series printer.

  1. Zebra printers and RSS-14 symbols

Added option to optimize RSS-14 symbols. If this option is selected, then the symbol is sent as a printer command instead of a graphic image.

  1. Zebra font downloading

Increased the number of fonts that can be downloaded to the Zebra from 17 to 27. This allows for more font types/sizes to be resident in the printer, allowing for faster printing.

  1. Sato printers and RSS-14 symbols

Added option to optimize RSS-14 symbols. If this option is selected, then the symbol is sent as a printer command instead of a graphic image.

  1. Sato UPC/EAN changes

Many Sato printers have trouble printing UPC/EAN symbols if the bar width is greater than a certain size and a human readable interpretation is selected. In these cases, the symbol is sent as a graphic image.

  1. Tharo H and V series format downloading

When a format is set for downloading to the printer, the program restricts format options based on what is possible to do in a stand-alone environment.

  1. Embedded control codes in barcode header/trailer

Fixed a problem when embedding control code characters in a barcode header or trailer. The control codes were not converted correctly, but where left as literal strings, such as “<ESC>”.

  1. Embedded control codes in text field header/trailer

Fixed a problem when embedding control code characters in a text field header or trailer. The control codes were not converted correctly, but where left as literal strings, such as “<ESC>”.

  1. Database column type of “date”

When a database table had a column type of “date”, it was sometimes not converted correctly. This caused the date to be displayed incorrectly in many cases. This has been corrected.

  1. User log file

The user log file was not being updated correctly if a maximum log file size was specified. This has been corrected.

  1. Color images using 16-bit color depth

Fixed a problem with processing color images that used 16-bit color (65,536 colors). In many cases, the program would crash when trying to read the image file.

  1. Logreader application for user log files

The LogReader application did not properly format the date/time of user events. The date and time is not correctly formatted and uses the current time zone properly.

  1. Reading very old DOS formats

Corrected a problem with the conversion of fonts when reading old DOS version label formats.

  1. Unicode text importing

Added the ability to import a block of text which is saved as a graphic image within the label format. The text can contain any Unicode character supported by the chosen font. This can be used to add multilingual text fields regardless of the language of the Operating System.

  1. DatabaseView Copy/Paste function

The DatabaseView program has been changed to properly handle the case where the user tries to paste an entire database record into one cell of another record.

  1. RFID EPC encodings

Corrected several problems with the encoding of EPC tags. Specifically, the SSCC-96 was not being encoded correctly and there was an error in the validation of the serial number for SGTIN-96.

  1. Tharo H series and database downloading

Fixed a problem when downloading a format that contained a database field that was using a TrueType font. The field was being sent as a graphic image.

  1. Windows Printer Ports

If a Windows printer is using the same port as an EASYLABEL configured printer, then when EASYLABEL needs to use the port it will temporarily move the Windows printer to “FILE:”. The Windows printer port is restored to its previous value when the port is closed.

  1. Database “All Records” selection

To make it easier to select all records in a database, the record selection list includes “**ALL RECORDS**” item. Selecting this item causes all records in the database to be printed.

  1. Multi-User version

In some cases, the Multi-User version would crash if it could not find a license key on the network. This has been corrected.

  1. Added “Character Map”

Added the ability to launch the Windows Character Map utility from EASYLABEL. There is a menu items “under Tools” and an icon on the “Tools” toolbar.

  1. Job separator formats

When defining a job separator, another format can be used as the separator instead of blank labels. Simply enter the format file name (leave blank if you want blank separators) and the named format is printed as the separator.

  1. USB printer support

Added support for many more USB printers.

  1. Tharo V-series “buzzer” option

Fixed a problem where the “buzzer” option did not send the correct command to the printer.

  1. LogReader application

The LogReader application sometimes crashed when processing large log files. The program has been fixed to allow for files of any size.

  1. Barcode “bearer bars”

Added the option to print “bearer bars” for the Interleaved 2of5 and Plessey barcodes. This is supported on most printers.

  1. Datamax multi-up and reversed labels

Fixed a problem where a reversed (white on black) multi-up label did not print correctly.

  1. Function codes for UCC/EAN-14 and SSCC-18

When creating a field using linked data, a link component can now be a function code. Previously, function codes could not be selected.

  1. Database reports

When printing a listing of database records, you can now enter a “where” option to select a subset of the database.

  1. HP printers and multi-up formats

Corrected a problem in the HP printer driver where formats were not printed correctly if the batch size was not an even multiple of the number of label across the page.

  1. cab A-series printers

Corrected a problem when storing formats to a local CF (Compact Flash) drive. The wrong Unicode character was being used for a “carriage return”.

  1. Minimum barcode height

Removed the limitation for minimum barcode height. You can now enter any value greater than zero. The previous minimum was 2.5mm.

  1. RFID EPC tag lock code

Added ability to define a lock code when write protecting an EPC tag. The lock code is a number from 0 to 255.

  1. Format “default printer”

The default printer list only shows printers that are named and are compatible with the printer that the format was designed for.

  1. Database menu and toolbar

Fixed a problem where exiting the form view or table view did not properly restore the database menus and toolbars.

  1. Sato scalable font

Added the CG Times and CG Triumvirate scalable fonts to the GT series printers, “e” series printers, and any “Pro” model printers.

  1. ActiveX enhancements

The ELabelOCX component now supports the “ELShutDownWhenIdle” property. This will cause the ActiveX server to shutdown if

there are no active client connections. Also added two new properties: SQLWhere and SQLOrderby. These can be used to select and sort database records when printing multiple database records. See the new Active X programming guide for details.

  1. Label preview

The label preview image and the navigator window no longer display disabled fields.

  1. Arithmetic fields and date offsets

Fixed bug when using “DATE+n” to offset the date by “n” days. In some cases this did not work correctly.

  1. Idle thread usage

Fixed problem where the program would use an “idle priority” thread for the label preview display. In some cases (when running under Windows Terminal Server for instance) this caused problems. We no longer use idle priority.

  1. Windows printer “duplex” printing

When printing to a Windows printer that has duplex enabled, then the label format is cut in half vertically and the top half is printed on the front and the bottom half is printed on the back of the page. This was specifically added to support “card” printers.

  1. PDF417 and Micro-PDF

Corrected a problem when printing these symbols on an HP or Windows printer. Sometimes there would be small gaps in symbol between the rows.

  1. TSC and TrueType fonts

The TSC driver now defaults “Download Fonts” to NO. Many of the TSC printers have trouble with the large size of some TrueType font files.

  1. TSC text field position

Corrected a problem where the text position of the internal Roman and TrueType fonts was too high. The position now matches what is displayed on the label design screen.

  1. TSC driver fixes

Removed font download option for the TTP-245. Added USB support. Fixed the printing of italic fonts. Fixed size calculation problem for some Code128 symbols. Fixed cutter problems (after batch and after job did not always work correctly). Incremented or decremented fields are now processed in the printer. Fixed problem with extended characters (above 127 ASCII).

  1. Format Print Images and Format Tracking Reports

Corrected a problem where the “Print Image” pathname was added to the format tracking report even if the format did not specify that print images should be saved. This caused problems when viewing the reports because the pathname was very wide and did not allow all columns of the report to be visible.

  1. Windows Printers and Maxicode symbols

The Maxicode symbology can now be printed to some Windows printers using the vendor supplied Windows printer driver. Currently this is limited to printers with a resolution of 300 or 600 DPI (dots per inch).
