The following changes/additions have been made:

  1. Bi-Directional IP Printing

The Apollo, Datamax, and Zebra drivers support bi-directional IP printing for certain printer models. This requires the use of a compatible printer network card or device server.

  1. Multi-level undo/redo

Added support for multi-level undo and redo of all label operations. All label and field operations (edit, move, etc.)are stored internally so you can always undo any unintentional changes to the label.

  1. HP TrueType font bug

There was a bug in the HP printer driver where some TrueType fonts (Arial Black for instance) had the top of the text cut off. This has been corrected.

  1. Data source of “When Printed”

In some cases for a “When Printed” data source, the operator prompt was not required to be entered. This has been fixed. An operator prompt is always required for when printed fields.

  1. Picture field aspect ratio

Corrected problems with the TSC, Intermec, Printronix and Novexx drivers where picture fields set to maintain the aspect ratio would not print correctly in all orientations.

  1. Database Cross Reference

Changed the database cross reference wizard to allow for the selection of database “views” and “aliases” when selecting the target table for a cross reference.

  1. Asian TrueType fonts

When processing certain characters in Asian (double-byte) fonts, sometimes characters were not displayed or printed correctly. The characters sometimes overlapped or were not spaced correctly. This has been fixed.

  1. Database “Variable Table”

Data was not retrieved correctly from a database table that contained a cross reference field when the variable table option was set to “No” and the user selected a field that was not a cross reference field. This has been fixed. The variable table cross reference field is treated as normal data if the variable table option is set to “No”.

  1. Datamax I-4206 not an RFID printer

Removed the Datamax I-4206 from the list of supported RFID printers as Datamax does not have an RFID option for this printer.

  1. Cannot encode RFID without a WibuKey

Any attempt to encode an RFID tag without a WibuKey device will result in a value of all “1”s to be encoded in the tag. You must have a valid WibuKey to correctly encode RFID tags.

  1. RFID wizard

The RFID wizard now allows for the direct encoding of data into a tag. The user may enter any ASCII or hexadecimal encoded data to be written to the tag. This allows for non-standard usage of EPC tags, or for the recreation of a tag when only the encoded data is known.

  1. RFID Label Retry Count

Added a “Label Retry Count” option in the RFID tab of the label setup dialog. User specifies the number of labels to attempt to encode if there was an error encoding an RFID tag.

  1. Database column names

Previously, all database column names were changed to all uppercase letters. This caused problems with some database drivers that were case-sensitive. Now, database column names are listed as they are returned from the driver. No changes are made to the names.

  1. Tharo H and V series

Added support for downloaded Asian fonts, job separator option, form feed, pause and unpause, and optimize QR-code option. The PDF-417 symbology is now done by the printer instead of being sent as a graphic image. Added ability to download a serial file to the printer for standalone printing. Added “slash zero” and “ISO week of year” options. Added applicator mode to the print mode selection. More date formats are supported when downloading to memory card. Added ability to use custom date formats.

  1. Sharing ports with Windows printers

Corrected problems that occur when a Windows printer is on the same port as one of the configured printers. The program now will temporarily move the Windows printer off of the port so that no communications problems can occur.

  1. Printer configuration crash

The program would sometimes crash when entering the printer configuration screen. This was caused by some Windows printer drivers returning blank printer information fields. This problem has been corrected.

  1. Picture file not found

When a format was opened and some of the picture fields on the format had missing picture files, the program would display an error message multiple times for each picture. This has been fixed, the error will only be displayed once per picture field.

  1. User event log

The user event log viewer program (logreader.exe) will now display date and time according to the settings selected in operating system “Regional Options”.

  1. Tracking report by batch

Added an option to the label format to allow for updating the format tracking report for each batch printed. Normally, the tracking report only keeps totals for the entire job. This option allows for tracking by batch and can be used to show the data for when printed, database, and RFID tag fields.

  1. Intermec cutter option

Fixed a bug in the Intermec driver where an incorrect message was shown for the cutter option in the printer configuration dialog.

  1. More USB printer support

Added USB support for the cab M4, A3, A4, A6, and A8 printers. More Zebra printer models are also supported. Added support for the Citizen CLP-521, CLP-621, CLP-7201e, and CLP-8301.

  1. Field “Change Amount”

For an incremented or decremented field, the “change amount” value is now validated to make sure that the printer supports the value. Some printers have limited increment or decrement values.

  1. Barcode wizard crash

The barcode wizard sometimes crashed when the program was set a non-English language selection. This has been corrected.

  1. Datamax “Standard” printers

The Datamax “Standard” driver now supports the setting of the printer clock from the print queue printer status screen.

  1. Novexx Texxtile / Avery Dennison TTK

Corrected a problem with the cutter on the Novexx Texxtile and Avery Dennison TTK printers. Previously, the driver sent each label separately, which slowed down printing. Now only one job is sent to the printer using the correct cutting commands.

  1. Datamax RLE2 compression

The new Datamax RLE2 graphic compression is now supported on the I, W, and A class printers. This is also supported on the M-4208 and M-4306. This is a configurable option in the printer settings. The new compression algorithm allows for faster downloading and less memory usage in the printer.

  1. TrueType font corrections

Fixed a problem where Hindi numbers were not displayed correctly for Arabic character sets. Fixed problem with “Western” script being displayed as the default for fonts that did not include a “Western” script. Fixed problem with some fonts that do not have a “Regular” font style.

  1. Windows printers and multiple copies

For some Windows printer drivers, the “copy count” was not set correctly and this resulted in an incorrect number of formats being printed.

  1. Datamax Presentation Position

The Datamax printer driver had a bug where the presentation position was sent to the printer incorrectly for the I, W, and A class printers. This resulted in the label being fed out to the wrong position. This has been fixed and the label will be fed out to the distance selected.

  1. Avery Dennison RFID support

The Avery Dennison 64-05 printer now has an RFID option in the printer configuration. The printer can encode Alien 64-bit tags, but others may be supported in the future.

  1. Novexx / Avery Dennison print mode

Changed “cutter mode” to “print mode” in the format specifications screen. This was necessary as print mode is used other operations, such as when using an applicator.

  1. The “Field Fill” option

When using the “Field Fill” option for when printed fields, sometimes the text was not displayed correctly. In some cases, the letters were overlapping. This has been fixed.

  1. Font Point Size

Sometimes the “Font point size” prompt would not display for a when printed field that has a text width of zero. This has been fixed.

  1. Code 128 check digit

Corrected a bug in the calculation of a check digit for a Code 128 symbol that included function codes.

  1. Tharo H and V series memory card display

Corrected several problems with the display and functions in the memory card window. The text of the printer directory was not fully displayed in the list. Also fixed bugs where the “delete” and “upload” buttons might not work correctly.

  1. Sato RFID support

Added support for optional RFID encoder to the following Sato printer models: CL408e, CL412e, 8485Se-R, and 8485Se-L.

  1. Tharo H and V series PDF-417 option

Added an option (“Optimize PDF-417”) to specify whether a PDF-417 symbol is sent to the printer as a graphic image or as a printer command.

  1. Printronix printers

Added new sensor modes “Advanced Gap” and “Advanced Notch” to allow better control of the label sensor settings.

  1. Tharo H and V series and small labels

Made a change that should help when printing very small labels(.5 inch or smaller). There was a problem with the calculation of the label height sent to the printer.

  1. Printronix text fields using TrueType fonts

In some cases, text fields using TrueType fonts had part of the last character chopped off. This has been corrected.
